Warranty Information

The information provided below is based on typical warranties or expected performance life in the product warranty matrix. Some values may change depending on the printer/ink used. 3M® certified installers who are trained to use proper equipment (heat guns and rollers) are a must, or nullify these statements.

Floors (tile/concrete) indoor

• 3M® Products have a 1 year, indoor floor graphic warranty. Most floor graphics typically have an expected performance life of 1 year. If sealed properly, they can last for years (wax). School responsible for sealing.
  

Gym Floors

• 3M ® doesn’t give a warranty for this application. Recommend school coat with a
  polyurethane sealant over the graphic.
  

Windows

• Premium 3M® films may qualify for a warranty and interior window graphics typically
  last for multiple years.
  
• The IJ8150- optically clear printable film has a 5 year warranty and a 7 year expected performance life.
  

Walls (Smooth Wall)

• 3M® (and the graphics industry) does not provide interior wall warranties for
  graphics adhered to painted drywall.
  
• This is due to all the paints and finishes that are available. Low VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints tend to decrease the bond between the graphic and the
  wall.
  • The 3M® wall test kit helps ensure good adhesion (which is the most critical element). Once graphics are adhered to wall, graphics have an expected performance life of 10 years.
  

Walls (Rough Wall)

• Similar to smooth walls, textured walls do not qualify for a warranty. 3M® has had much experience in product testing and graphic application for textured walls. 3M® premium vinyls are recommended for this application and have an expected performance life of 10 years.
  

Lockers (Smooth Wall Vinyl)

• Interior sign products typically last for multiple years and may qualify for a warranty, depending on specific material and application.
  
• For example, 3M® premium vinyl on interior sign or lockers has an 8 year warranty, with an expected performance life of 10 years

Vehicle Graphics

• Vehicle graphics can achieve long warranties, up to 7 years for vertical surface on the vehicle when premium 3M® solutions are used. Vehicle graphics have a 10
  year expected performance life for vertical surfaces.
